Are you out there, or tucked up by the fire knitting. The view over the water meadows is stunningly beautiful; the garden is a winter wonderland; the woodburner is having a rage and I am sitting in front of the laptop, paying bills and planning my afternoon knitting. At this point you should be able to see my snow bound trike……………….well actually its already sitting up there.Mmmmm
WEATHER WARNING

Hi people, the weather and roads are foul so I am cancelling Stitch n Bitch. Apologies for this but no sense in taking risks. Curl up at home and enjoy your knitting. Kate wisely stayed at home this morning, but I shall try and get in tomorrow and open the gallery. STAY WARM.

Happy New Year Knitters (and crocheters). The first knitting group meeting is tomorrow night at The Green Dragon in Broad Street, Hereford. We will be there from 6 – 9pm. The weather forecast is not encouraging so if you have any doubts about travelling: DONT. If you need any knitting help come and see us in the shop and surely by February – the weather will be clearer.
Our new project: Knitters for Peace will be in the planning stage over the next few sessions and we might have some extra sessions for spinners and creative kniiters: even yarn bombers on the third Thursday of the month at Gomati’s, behind the Green Dragon. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR NEWS OR CHECK OUT THE SMALL GALLERY WINDOWS – and by the way, if you love Freedom wools, there’s 20% off Spirit and Chunky from Wednesday and off Adriafil Big Wool so you can knit those lvoely Kim Hargreaves jackets or Rowan Big Wool Patters at an enjoyable saving. Take Care and see you soon.

What I meant to add is that we have now added the ultimate sock yarn Zaubeerball to our sock knitting palette. So have Socka Mexico; Opal sock yarns; Artists Palette and Yarn Damour foot treats and also the all singing, all dancing jitterbug…….so much sock yarn!
Also to my own personal delight we have managed to secure the patttern books for AK Designs huggable friends. Visit their website http://www.aktraditions.com/html/knitted_dolls.html to see how fabulous they are. We have a lovely italian superwash merino to knit them with……
For Christmas sparkle we have added a little Rowan romance at £3.00 a ball which means that you can knit a sparkly ORK neck cowl for £6, plus buttons….. not that ORK would wear such a frivolous garment!!!

New Yarns…….

Hey, so I am back from Harrogate and I brought a few goodies back with me which I shall tell you about in a minute. And yes, or no, I did take my camera. but when you are a one woman yarnseller and advice centre – you often forget to take photos..and despite my investment in new software to facilitate the uploading of photos – and yes/no I did not take any.
Was it worth going all that way I keep being asked. Well, yes it was. The venue was awesome if I had had a chance to get around the other stalls, the people, as always, were delightful and we sold the most lace yarn we have ever sold at any show, much to the delight of Yarn Damour. Artists PAlette glorious coloured sock wool was snapped up by many knitters – some of whom were completely unaware of Juliet’s amazing yarn, but have now joined the list of anverts and I am always extra pleased when people buy my very own Artisan Yarn silk and linen lace. I am looking forward to getting some project pics from you wonderful knitters, and yes, I do know, they make great pets. I am adding two new luxury yarns to my plant dyed palette: one a beautiful kidsilk in 50 gm hanks (watch out kidsilk haze!) and for the total luxury addicts, pure cashmere d.k., 4ply and lace. The kidsilk in its natural state is £6.50 per hank and will be £12.00 in its plant dyed state. The cashmere will be: £18.00 d.k./50gms(113m) ; £ 19.00 4ply/50gms(200m) and £20 laceweight /50gms (400m). For colours on Etsy you need to wait a week or so, but I shall be dyeing with cochineal (pinks); logwood (purples); madder (warm reds and oranges and my favourite – indigo for all the blues. Must go…….
